Railway Station Information System Simulator

Desktop simulation of selected elements of a railway station information system (2015)
The main idea behind the project was to create simple yet functionally accurate software that could be used, for example, in the operation of model railways intended for experimental, educational, or laboratory purposes.

The application was developed in Delphi, which enabled the rapid creation of a user-friendly interface while ensuring a faithful implementation of specific functions matching those found in real railway systems.

Key features of the simulator

  • Full simulation of a station hall departure board
Accurate display of train departure information in the same format used in real-life operations – including departure times, destinations, train numbers, and other supplementary details.
  • Simulation of a platform departure board
Reproduction of smaller platform boards with a focus on readability and quick data updates according to the current timetable.
  • Generation and playback of train arrival and departure announcements
The system can simulate audio announcements based on an exact scenario – including information about delays, platform changes, and other operational situations.

This suite of applications made it possible to recreate the atmosphere of a real railway station not only visually but also acoustically, all in a fully controllable and configurable form suitable for teaching, presentations, or experimental use.
